The project

Z17 is a dental clinic in Göttingen, Germany, with specialists and its own dental lab. Its Joomla site was slow and hard to maintain. I rebuilt it on my own as a React and TanStack Start app on Cloudflare Workers, with images and files on Cloudflare R2.

What I built

  • Rebuilt the legacy Joomla site in React and TanStack Start.
  • Server logic on Cloudflare Workers and assets on R2, so pages load from servers close to visitors and there is no server to patch.
  • GTmetrix grade from F to A, performance score from 16% to 88%, largest contentful paint from 3.4 s to 1.0 s and layout shift from 0.89 to 0.
